The Challenge:

Cheapflights wanted a creative idea for April Fools. The challenge was to create something that would stand out and at the same time extol the virtue of the brand being a provider of a wide range of flights at a low cost! The intention was simple – get as much coverage as possible, and digital brand engagement. And we only had 7 days to do it.

The Solution:

  • We came up with an idea to promote the launch of a fake airline partner for Cheapflights, Hipster Air! We supported Cheapflights’ in house efforts and reached out to bloggers, national journalists as well as influencers within the travel industry to make as much noise as possible!

The Outcome:

  • Voted Best prank of the day by: The Daily Mail, The Telegraph, ITV News, The Drum as well as The Next Web, Gizmodo, The Londonist and features on a whole batch of trade and industry press. The result was a 5 figure increase in traffic as well as amazing engagement on all digital and social mediums.
